The Moorebank intermodal is a highly discussed issue throughout the Moorebank and surrounding communities.

Our group has conducted a survey to gain a further understanding of the attitudes and opinions of local residents in the Moorebank and Wattle Grove area located close to the proposed intermodal location.

A copy of the survey we used can be downloaded via the link below.

The following graphs are answers to a survey we created regarding the Moorebank intermodal.

The first graph shows the local residents' awareness of the intermodal in the local community. 92% of the residents had heard of the intermodal, while 8% of the residents had never heard of the Moorebank intermodal proposal.

The second graph dealt with a particularly important issue, whether Moorebank is a suitable place to construct the intermodal. If they answered no in the previous question, we gave them some information about the use of the intermodal. As the graph shows, only 8% of residents agreed that Moorebank is a suitable place, with none strongly agreeing. 60% of residents strongly disagreed that Moorebank is a suitable place for this intermodal, 24% of residents disagreed and 8% had no opinion.

The third graph asked the residents if the intermodal is beneficial for the Liverpool region and its residents. 28% of residents disagreed, 52% strongly disagreed while 12% agreed, 8% had no opinion and none strongly agreed.

This graph was presented as a column as this was our only question where more than one answer could be selected. The graph shows that all choices were very common, but environmental impacts was slightly more common than social impacts. The result is that most of the residents believe the potential affects of the intermodal, should the project go through, will be more than one simple impact to the community.

This graph shows the approximate age group of the residents we surveyed.  51-60 was the predominant age group, while 26-30 was the least common age group.

This graph shows the approximate amount of years the residents we surveyed had lived in the local area for. 9-12 years was the common age group while people who lived for 21+ years were scarce.
